MerDub Posted January 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2016 While we love being unplugged on cruises, we are on a 7-day and would like to be able to check in with family and friends once or twice, just to let them know everything is ok and we are enjoying ourselves and we are eating too much. Does anyone have a recommendation for places at the following ports that have free wifi available for use? We wouldn't even mind popping into a bar or restaurant for a drink/snack to take advantage of the internet there. Our ports are: Ocho Rios Georgetown, Cayman Cozumel Costa Maya but feel free, if you know of any good WiFi places at ANY port, to post them here for others! roger001 Posted January 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Georgetown and Cozumel both have free wifi available on the street near a couple of downtown businesses. I can't remember them specifically though. However, ask a crew member and they should know. Also, you can Google "free wifi" at those locations and get a bunch of results. drvalo Posted January 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2016 In Georgetown, there is a Burger King very close to the dock with free wifi for an hour (I think) with purchase. We bought a diet Coke. Quite a few from the ship were there.

In Georgetown there is free wifi in the Atlantis Submarine office. When you get off in town go to the right and walk to Atlantis a few streets, not far. It has A/C, sells things like tshirts & souvenirs. Go look around or stand outside. It is fast. In the port in Cozumel there is a big bar along the main walkway with wifi. It has the password in a frame on the bar. I bought a coke.
casofilia Posted January 27, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Can't help you with any specific ports you are interested in BUT---- #1 Ask a crew member #2 Ask another crew member #3 Ask yet another crew member If none of those can tell you don't bother to buy a lottery ticket that week, you are lucked out!!! #22 Find out where the local Information office is; they often have free WiFi #23 Find out where the local Library is; they do to #24 Find Starbucks, Tim Hortons or the local equivalent and buy a coffee and muffin. If none of those work wait for the next port!! :D Good luck Mike
