wheezedr Posted February 20, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Think a lot of the answers here neglected to keep in mind the OP's original criteria. He needs a Tuesday flight to Spokane and would prefer to travel via Alaska Air. That limits him a little bit. The only non stops from the bay area to Spokane are on SW out of OAK at 10:00AM and 8:00 PM. One is too early and I doubt he wants to hang around for the second one as neither are his PREFERRED airline. Alaska has 1 stop Flights from both airports around 1:00PM, thus he needs to pick which connection he prefers and then he can work out the travel. As it sounds like he does not want to handle baggage excessively his simplest method would be a cab or Uber/Lyft. Pier 27 to SFO is 14.4 miles and 19.8 to OAK. If a little baggage handling is okay then the following can work. He can use BART from the Embarcadero station; which he can reach by walking pleasantly along the Embarcadero if he is comfortable with a flat 15-20 minute jaunt by the bay. Otherwise he can take a cab from the cruise port to the Hyatt Regency whose front door opens to the BART station and then get on BART in the appropriate direction. Do not try the F streetcar line on the Embarcadero as it is there to show off antique trolleys and is not luggage friendly. BART to the OAK terminal takes 36 minutes including the transfer to and time on the overhead line directly to the terminal. The bart line terminates slightly closer to terminal 1 where all airlines except SW depart from. It is a small airport and easy to negotiate. Cost of $10.20 including the transfer line. BART to SFO takes 33 minutes and puts him right into the international terminal which would actually leave him a slight bit farther to walk in the airport. Cost of $8.95 Hope this explains it all. I have done all of the above except use of the cab.
