Rare Keith1010 Posted January 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2016 Looks up the historical temperature. It might be cool in Hong Kong but warm in Singapore. Keith
Hoyaheel Posted January 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2016 A more detailed and specific question might enable better responses. Are you looking for the climate so you know what clothing to pack? Ideas on culturally appropriate clothing (depending on which countries and what -eg temples etc- you plan to do in those countries?) How to mix and match clothing to pack light? I LOVE to plan my packing lists. I have several going at any given time (I'm working on my packing light!) I've had several trips to China in the past few years but they were business, not cruises, and not so tropical. We're cruising Singapore to Hong Kong in the fall so I'm working on what that means for me now. Here are some sights that might give you some ideas, if that's what you're looking for (for weather, just go to WEather Underground or weather.com or any other weather site and, as Keith mentions, look up the historical temps & precipitation for your ports) http://travelfashiongirl.com/asia-packing-lists/ http://unefemme.net/2014/10/travel-wardrobe-recap-hong-kong-and-phuket.html I adore TheVivienneFiles for packing list ideas - her small capsules are fabulous! cruiserinsg Posted January 31, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Singapore is very easy...either very hot or raining and always humid. Do bring a foldable umbrella. :D Edited January 31, 2016 by cruiserinsg
4774Papa Posted February 6, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2016 Singapore is near the Equator and always hot. We did a cruise from Singapore to Dubai in March. I know it is a month later, but I suspect the temps are similar. Hong Kong might be cooler, but I expect it will be nice. Not sure about rain? Both cities are great places to visit. If you do pre-cruise in Singapore, I recommend the Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel, which is a 4.5 star hotel near the Orchard Rd. MRT. Lots of great restaurants in the area for reasonable prices. The hotel runs about $175 US per night. You can easily spend four days in Singapore. Same for Hong Kong.
