You can purchase the clear pocket over the door shoe holder at Walmart for $5. My daughter just bought one yesterday.

I use a hanging jewelry organizer instead of a shoe organizer. I have smaller items so the many smaller pockets are more helpful to me. I got it at Marshall's for under $10

 

Great idea! Our dollar store has them for about $2 I think. I'm in Canada so we have Dollarama as well as Dollar Tree, I'm not sure if Dollarama is in the US.

We've got Dollar everything but "ama". They're all handy for travel items.

We have many different versions as well, but Dollarama is pretty good and carries items up to $3 whereas Dollar Tree is everything at $1.25.
