RuthC Posted February 21, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 21, 2016 I'm sorry in advance cause I'm sure I missed my answer but....How does buying stock in HAL get you onboard credit??? It's a fringe benefit for owning the stock and cruising on Carnival Corporation lines. You do have to follow a procedure to have the credit applied to each cruise, but it's a simple process---and can be worth quite a bit of money if you cruise a lot! :D
serendipity1499 Posted February 21, 2016 #27 Share Posted February 21, 2016 I'm sorry in advance cause I'm sure I missed my answer but....How does buying stock in HAL get you onboard credit??? It is NOT stock in HAL...It is stock in Carnival Corporation & PLC. CCL shareholder OBC HAL offers guests with current reservations who hold Carnival (CCL) stock a ship board credit incentive amount as follows: 3-6days $50.total 7-13 days $100.total 14 or more days $250.total. Ship board credit can be used for (gift shop purchases, shore excursions, Pinnacle grill to name a few). Can not be redeemed for casino purchases nor for cash at end of sailing and must be used for the voyage it was applied for. To apply for the ship board credit (OBC) due to CCL shares, guests should send in the proof of ownership (statement of shares, letter from Carnival/or financial advisor) stating how many shares are owned, and who the share holder(s) is/are. The min. number of CCL stock is 100 shares to be eligible for the ship board credit incentive (OBC) SEND REQUEST to the following: Holland America line ATTN:WORLD CRUISE RESERVATIONS or FAX:to 206-281-0627..I've been told they are no longer accepting E-mails.. serendipity1499 Posted February 21, 2016 #28 Share Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) FWIW the NYSE records agree with whogo on this one - at no time during November of 2009 did CCL stock trade at (or, for that matter, anywhere near) $18.24 per share. Well Avian & Whogo.. You are right...We actually purchased our stock on March 09, 2009..I honestly thought it was November..We received our first OBC of $250 in November of 2009..Since then we've received over $1800 in OBC plus the dividends which they started paying in 2010.. I just looked it up & have a printed copy of our statement Jan 31 which states: On 3/05/09 we purchased 100 shares of CCL stock through Wells Fargo Advisors for $18.24 per share! This shows on our statement as Adj/Price/orig Price.. In any event we are happy with the investment which BTW we were taking the dividends, until last month...As of Jan we started to re-invest them instead... Our Jan 31 statement shows that our 100 shares were $48.13 per share.. Not a bad investment, but wish we had more.... Have no idea what it's worth today..
