Bear watching Wrangell in June.

We are booked on an Oceania cruise docking in Wrangell on the 19th June 2016. We are looking at booking the Anan bear watching tour. Is there a likelihood of seeing bears this early? One site I saw said the Bears start feeding on the salmon from July!

If there is little chance of seeing bears I really don't want to spend the money and not see any bears.

Hoping someone can shed some light.

Thanks Lisa Aussie.

You are too early. The tours are less costly from Wrangell, so you could take a boat tour? I'd be calling vendors and inquiring IF bears are being seen, a day ahead- - if vendors, give you any encouragement that it could happen prior?
