Koningsdam deck plan

Hello HALsters,

Keeping myself excited about our upcoming Koningsdam cruise I was reacquainting myself with the ship via the HAL website. Studying the deck plans I noticed http://www.hollandamerica.com/main/DeckPlans.action?ship=ko&deck=b&deep=0

I noticed that the lifeboats are represented on Deck 4, does anyone know if this means they sit below or above deck 4 cabins?

We selected cabin 5094 as we wanted mid-ship (motion sickness can be an issue at times) and something quiet (not above casino, bars etc). It also seems to have a slightly larger balcony. I am not familiar with reading deck plans so cannot tell if there are any common areas/staff working areas near our cabin that might be noisy or cause issues.

I know this is a new ship but just interested of thoughts of experienced HALsters.

Cheers

James

See this picture on HAL's site:

None of us know for certain yet, but just a warning - HAL deck plans are often incorrect or misleading. For example, on the Eurodam and Nieuw A plans the deck 5 center section balconies appear to be deeper than those in the forward and aft sections, while the opposite is true.

Thanks all, sounds like we made the right choice. Daisy the only thing we were slightly concerned about was potential view obstruction being so close to the suites but I doubt it will be an issue.

In examining the deck plan, I just realized that the balconies do not have a mini-fridge as we have had in other ships :(. Disappointing...

do you mean verandah rooms do not have a fridge?

It says on the room description page they have a mini-fridge

In Teamflames link to the deck plan, I was reading the amenities from that link and it did not list mini-fridge which prompted my post. I see from the link you posted that it certainly does list it. I wonder if it was an oversight on that listing. I will go back to see if I was the one that overlooked it.

Looked on site from above. One description list all cabins including interiors have fridges but the general description does not list it. One description lists the classier of items (probably the one you stated). One listed the factual of items with the fridges.I think fridges are a necessity because folks have medications that require refridgeration.
