Whenever we get on a ship we are just directed in the right direction. Get the lift to the right deck. Even number cabins are port side (left as you face the bow) odd number cabins are starboard (right has you face the bow) cabins number low at the bow going higher towards the stern (back)

On P&O you have to find your cabin. Arcadia is not that big so you shouldn't have a problem - unlike us on Norwegian Escape last year who got hopelessly lost on the third day trying to find our cabin after breakfast !!

On Arcadia for first time, do we get shown to our cabin or do we have to find it ourselves?

We have been on Arcadia 3 times, and we still lose our cabin a few days into the cruise.

However that is entirely down to me, when I get out of the lift, I forget which side to turn to, having sorted that out I then forget which way to walk along they corridor.

If I am lucky by the end of the cruise I may just be able to walk to it first time.

Needless to say OH who is Mr perfect always gets it right.

Once you have your cabin number, you just got to find A deck or whatever. Then when you get out the lift as you walk past cabins the numbers go up or down if they are going the wrong way turn about. If they are all even and you want odd or vice versa change to other side of ship. It is very easy when you have a plan.

There are signs at the start of the corridors if you are disorientated just check them out. If I can find my cabin anyone can [emoji6]

I know how simples it is, its just telling my brain that time after time after time

:(:(:(

Same as the Alexandria MDR on Aurora, I know it is simples to get there...We still lost it on our last cruise ;);)

Should be ok on our next cruise as we are at the stern, so straight down in the lift. Simples!!!!

I havent been on Arcadia and I think the lifts maybe postioned differently, but on Azura ,Ventura and Britannia all the main lifts face the front of the ship as you get out making it easier ( for me anyway) to work out which way to turn.

I then only have to remember which lifts I am in (front ,middle or aft) to know which way to go when I reach the correct side of ship. Not perfect though and have walked half of the ship before realising I am going in the wrong direction with husband following behind me.(usually after a few drinks).

Men are supposed to have a better sense of direction than women but my husband is still going in the wrong direction after being on the ship for two weeks, and insists he is right and I am wrong! Sometimes I just watch him go and wait to see how long it takes for him to realise.

You see many couples having a few words about which way to go and it makes me smile.

On Arcadia there is a picture on the wall as you get out of the lift. I use this to to get my direction to the cabin. I know looking at the picture that our passage way is to the left if we have an odd numbered cabin. It works for me.

What deck do we board on, for Arcadia, presume its G , where reception is.When boarding is there a mad rush for the nearest lifts or is it orderly?

Well if people stick to their times for boarding it shouldn't be too bad. Most people always go for the midships lifts though.

As you should be able to go to your cabin first ,to drop stuff off. Check the deck plans to see which lifts are nearest and use that.

When we are in port ,we would always walk along the corridor to the fore/aft lifts as they were always quieter.
