Very Bizarre

In my opinion 2384 was the best cabin out of the three. A cove is so much better than a regular balcony. 2384 is actually above the dining room (which I have had) and it's so quiet. Your balcony on the 6th is above deck 5, which is one of the noisier decks.

Haha I am not knocking on the door at anytime!! I am not going to confront the people in there, if there are any. My beef is not with the occupants, it's with Carnival. Although I am 6'6, I am pretty stealth and will be able to observe from afar- or ask the steward as cruisinpsychrn suggested. Wildcatcruzer- 2384 is clearly under the galley. If it were under the dining room it wouldn't be an issue. My wife and daughter were skeptical of the cove balcony anyway, so they are now happy. As long as they are happy, I don't have to hear about it :) I love people watching, so being above deck 5 won't bother me at all. I am just excited to be on vacation!!!

Not sure if this has happened to anyone else before, but here is what happened to me today-

 

I was finishing my on line check in for my 3/26 cruise on the Breeze. When completed, I reviewed everything and noticed something strange- I was in a different cabin # than the one I booked! As of Saturday, I was in cove balcony 2272. I purposely booked that cabin because it was NOT under the galley. As of today, I was switched to cove balcony 2384- directly under the galley! I called carnival to find out what was up. The customer service agent said "oh, yes, I have a note here that your cabin is no longer available due to unforeseen maintenance during your cruise. They left you a voice mail today." Funny- I never got a voicemail about that. IPlanning that far ahead sounds like foreseen maintenance to me! Anyway, I said ok, but I am not going to stay in the cabin you switched me too as it is under the galley. The CSA said "well I only have one more room I can switch you too- another cabin under the galley on the other side of the ship." NOPE!! I said no thanks- I am not staying under the galley under any circumstance. I was put on hold off and on for an hour, finally the CSA came back on and told me that they can switch us to cabin 6270. Directly above my original 2272 I originally booked, but obviously on the Upper deck. My family is happy with the new arrangement, and I thanked the CSA for her help. Although I was looking forward to a cove balcony, I am glad I am no longer under the galley.

This happened once to us. We booked acts cabins, and I called for something and told me my cabin had been moved. I nearly busted a gasket until I heard I was still aft, but 2 decks higher. Had I been booked in deck 4, I would have has a hissy fit.

I would call back from a different phone number and say you want to book a cabin on this ship for your date of sailing. Say you would like a specific cabin...your old one....and see what they say

 

See if they say it's booked or say unavailable

If you're gonna knock on the door to find out for sure, I suggest either early early like 5 -6AM or late late like midnight 1AM. Many people are early risers and out to breakfast by 7AM or out on shore excursions mid day and quite a few are up late in the clubs and casinos.

 

Also bring a camera/smartphone and if someone does open the door, take a snapshot framed so that it includes their face and the cabin # so you then have irrefutable proof if you need to contact Carnival corporate when you get back and they try to give you a hard time.

 

 

Or you could just call the cabin and see if anyone answers

Luvtheships- I don't want to be creepy about it lol. But it's not a bad idea! And I do like the idea of calling and trying to book that specific room- I may just try that and see what they say [emoji51]

Nor was I honestly serious at all about my early morning late night knock-knock / camera ruse.

 

But everyone's cruising habits are different. But besides the average 7 - 8 hours sleeping, my family and I typically spend maybe a random hour or 2 during daylight hours actually physically in the room. And that's typically taking a quick snooze and getting showered and changed for dinner.

 

Everyone's different.

Those are my family's habits as well Adguymg- except for my wife who sits in the sun from 7am until it's time for dinner (late of course- can't miss any sun) [emoji35]

I really hope that they aren't playing games. If there is maintenance, fine, I can understand that. If someone else is in that cabin- there is going to be one angry guy!!!!!

People should read their cruise contracts. It says, in black and white, that specific staterooms are not guaranteed. You can be as angry as you want but it will just be an act based in futility.

I've read about stuff like this happening with those in demand type rooms...aft...cove...spa...or whatever they are called. Lol

 

We never have these issues with our lower deck midship insides. Lol

Just curious, how many people in your cabin? When we had a cove on Breeze we had four. Do all cove cabin accommodate 4 or are some for 3? Inquiring minds want to know:D

 

 

We have had a cove on the dream for 3. This march we are In a cove for 4 on the dream. One upper and one lower.

Interesting...we were in 2276 in early Jan and three out of our eight days there was either icky soapy water or flecks of paint chips all over the balcony. That is right next door....seems a long time to deal with a problem though.
