sad549s Posted February 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2016 We dock in Montego Bay on an upcoming cruise. We are a fairly active family with 2 children ages 7 and 16. Dunns River and Blue Hole are out as they are too far. I am looking for suggestions on what to do (with prices if possible).
ReggaeRoy Posted February 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2016 You could take the bus to Doctor's Cave Beach. Fairly cheap to enter and chairs/umbrellas are available too. Nice beach with decent snorkeling. From there, you could walk the "hip strip" and do a little shopping. Stop at Margaritaville for a bit. The kids will like it. Bus or cab back to the pier. ABQrobin Posted February 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2016 The Extreme zipline is fun. When we did it last year there was a kid (maybe 10 yrs old with special needs). The guides took great care with him, actually did one run tandem with him as it was really long. He had a blast and the parents were happy. I am sure a 7 year old would love it, especially if they are outdoors types. The guides and bus ride are great. I think it is $99pp on Carnival. Loved it, would do it again. Hey ReggaeRoy! Is it pretty easy (and safe) to bus to Doctor's Cave? How is the food there? Thank you!
ReggaeRoy Posted February 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Hey ReggaeRoy! Is it pretty easy (and safe) to bus to Doctor's Cave? How is the food there? Thank you! Yes, there are lots of busses at the pier and I think it was $5.00 per person. The driver will try to convince you to stay on board and let him drive you around for the day. Just get off once he stops at Doctor's Cave Beach Club. The food is good and not too expensive.
BrotherCraig Posted February 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Yes, Doctor's Cave Beach is great. We did that one on May. Took the JUTA bus over but don't let the driver talk you out of going to Doctor's Cave Beach. They get a cut from wherever they take you that is NOT Doctor's Cave Beach. Rent an umbrella and chairs -- sit back and enjoy. Waiters come out to you and the food is good. Easy return as well. Just let the folks know at the exit and they will hail you a legit taxi.
