I am so excited! We just booked the Davina for March! I do not know exactly what to expect. Do I have to make reservations for anything pre boarding? Is the internet service good or even passable? Is it better to buy things pre boarding or are there more discounts available on things once boarding? Thanks in advance. If anyone knows of a thread that explains the Yacht club Benefits and could point me to it I would really appreciate it!!

We are going on March 5th.

Have done the Yacht Club several times. NOTHING compares to it on the sea.

We have never made reservations for anything in advance. I do not remember how fast the internet was.

You are in for a real treat.

Go to youtube.com & put in Davina Yacht Club

You will see how amazing it is. And the best part is...it is even better than that.

Remember when you first get to the port...do NOT give your luggage to the porters.

Find the tent out front & get off there. The butlers will greet you & take your luggage & escort you to a private room where you checkin & wait. Your luggage gets priority handling.

We will be sailing on May 21. My fingers got a bit carried away in the excitement. :-) We live about 2 hours away so will be driving down. Is it easy to find parking? Would my husband just drop me and the luggage and find a place to park? Thanks in advance!

We always fly in the day before & take a taxi there.

We are also sailing on May 21! Have you joined our roll call yet? Parking at the port is $20 a day but super easy. Yes, your husband can drop you off and easily find a place to park. No pre booking is necessary...the concierge will do it all for you upon arrival. I have sailed in the Yacht Club 6 times and would be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

Hi Kathie!!! Will make sure we join the roll call and I'm so glad to have a fellow cruise critic friend on the cruise with us! I may take you up on questions. I have gotten used to the more casual dress code which my husband loves...LOL. Will he need to pack a suit coat for formal night? Thanks!!!

We are new to MSC and did not know that you do not give your luggage to the porters, isn't it a " schlepp" taking the luggage to the white tent or is it in front where the porters are?

Will we get documents or just print everything online? We go the week after you!

Most folks do tend to dress up in the Yacht Club restaurant Le Muse on formal night. I would suggest that he take a suit coat for sure. Every other evening most men wore dockers or dress pants with a collared polo-type shirt or dress shirt and perhaps a tie also.

Zoey, only if you are sailing in the Yacht Club. You cannot miss the white tent where the butlers will meet you. It is right next to where the porters are standing.

Documents will be online. I usually get my docs emailed to me a week or two before the cruise. If you are in YC, do NOT print or attach the luggage tags. The butlers will just tear them off. They have special ones for the Yacht Club folks so save time and paper and don't bother with the pre printed tags in your e docs.

Kathie, here come the questions...LOL!!!

Can you have dinner served in your room by your butler? Is it extra to have this for breakfast or dinner?

Is it an extra charge to order pizza in the evening for your room?

I guess I dont know what will be extra or included in the yacht club pricing.

On port days are the bars open in the Yacht Club or do you have to wait till later in the day?

Thanks!!!

Hi Jewliana!

Yes, you can have any meal served in your cabin by your butler.

No extra charge for the delicious pizza in your cabin!

Bars are open virtually 24 hours a day in the Yacht Club. You will also have the mini bar stocked in your room for use...free of charge. There's Bud, Bud Light, Heinekin, and the small bottles of vodka, whiskey, and gin. Also fruit juices, chips, candy, and fresh fruit will be replenished twice daily. You can ask your butler to customize your mini bar...for example, I had them only put in Peroni beer. Pretty much everything is included in the Yacht Club, including the speciality restaurant Le Muse, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is WONDERFUL! You butler will be your very best friend. Ours has been outstanding each and every cruise. They will do almost anything for you and are incredibly eager to please!

Thanks from me also!

We will have our first Yacht Club experience on the MSC Fantasia at Christmas and I am beyond excited.

We are very loyal Celebrity/ Royal Caribbean cruisers but have been tempted away by the Yacht Club concept and the Loyalty match scheme.

The price was so reasonable compared to a Sky suite on Celebrity.

I think we will have a very Merry Christmas this year!!:)

Loved seeing the pictures. Aron was out butler also on our first YC last April. We just did an 11 day one in January..we remembered many of the staff and they remembered us. It was like coming home. A great experience and dinner was such a treat each night..Gabriel was our waiter and it makes me smile just thinking of him and Giuseppe the maitre d and Luigi the Sommelier. Quite a wonderful experience.

Hi Kathiean

i don't think you can have dinner served in your room. You can have breakfast, only continental. You can also order room service lunch (Im sure the room service menu is available all day)and of course pizza after 8.00 pm I think. But not dinner.

We too were on Divina Jan. 11-21, 2016. I agree about it was like coming home. Gabriel was our waiter and Sultana (a lady) was our butler. This was our 7th week+ on Divina and now we have the Seaside booked for Jan. 2018!! A lot of the staff from Divina will be going over to Seaside so should be fun.

For those of you who have sailed in YC before, do you tip your waiter/butler/steward extra at the end of the cruise?

Yes, both waiter and asst. waiter and butler and jr. butler. How much extra depends on how much we requested extra services from them. We also tip extra to a few others within the YC for taking extra special care of us during the cruise.

That was exactly our approach as well. With regard to the various Yacht Club personnel whose performance deserved a little something extra, it was tough deciding whom to exclude! All of them, to a person, were just so exceptionally gracious.

We booked though an internet TA. They forwarded them to us along with the luggage tags.

We attached them the last time & I do not remember them being torn off.
