Carnival Internet trick

Sorry if this is old news. I was on the Glory last week and bought the social plan. The news, stocks and weather apps were blocked as expected (as well as snapchat, which was specifically listed as being allowed). However, I could use siri on my iPhone without any problems. Hourly weather, stocks, simple Google searches, etc.

The snapchat app is supposed to work, but according to GS one of the versions doesn't work correctly with the social plan and Carnival is aware of it. In November my nephew had it loaded on his iPhone and it didn't work. I'm not sure which versions work and which do not.
