Room Service in Cabanas?

There is a special Cabana Menu. As well, the 2 cabana attendants are not only willing but will urge you to ask them for anything you want and they will make it happen. They will also run to the buffet and get anything you want. After learning my craving for watermelon with lemon on the first day it was there every day after. And when the buffet ran out of slices of watermelon, one of the cabana attendants went to the fruit salad bowl and picked out all the watermelon chunks for me (not at my request but just to because he knew what I liked.)

We've had retreat cabanas and cabana club cabanas on three different ships and as great as all service on HAL is, I can honestly say the best service I've ever had anywhere on any ship is from the cabana crew.

You will love it, best money ever spent on a ship. Even in a Neptune suite w/ a big balcony I still love my cabana. Remember to chose your cabana location wisely. The ones on the sides have great views of the ocean but because the glass goes all the way up they can get REALLY hot. The ones that face over the pool only have rail high glass and thus get a much better breeze. Or, like I learned, get 1 of the 2 corner family cabanas and get the best of both worlds!

Enjoy!

You can request a side facing cabana or an aft facing cabana but can't always be guaranteed you'll get what you request. Only requesting one of the larger corner cabanas will guarantee just that -- a large corner cabana.

Yes, absolutely true.

I was told by the HAL representative that you could not choose the cabana you would like. She said the on-board ship rep assigns them. This contradicts what I am hearing on this thread. ???????

I called ship services to request a specific cabana, they called the ship, and I was assigned that specific cabana.

There is variety between the ship coordinators and the on board personnel. Some will allow specific, some will not. Commonly discussed on the various threads about ship cabanas.

We were able to specifically request on Eurodam, give a least of preferred cabanas on Noordam, request aft facing on Koningsdam, and, as N. Amsterdam was our first cabana, didn't request anything. Got a side facing cabana.

I contacted the HAL rep who I booked the cabana with via e-mail requesting an aft facing cabana - per all your recommendations. I heard back from her telling me she forwarded my request to the ship (Nieuw Amsterdam). Time will tell how this works out.
