The sun actually poked out for a few minutes, but I was busy watching fish swim by my facemask in a lagoon - oh well :-)

Great shot of the plane over the lighthouse - very cool! All the shots are nice, that one just stood out for me.

 

A few weekend birding shots out in the wetlands Saturday:

 

Great blue herons don't look all that scary...unless you're a snake - then they look like horrible nightmare monsters!:

 

Normally dull white birds, the cattle egret gets all gussied up at mating time - golden orange feathers on his head and back, and his dull greyish bill get all kinds of bold yellows, reds, and pink hues:

 

Here, a wood stork goes low for a crowd-pleasing pass right through the audience - and gets the excited attention of one onlooker:

Waiting to enter a solve-the-mystery adventure room sponsored by my eldest daughter for my birthday, I suddenly realized I was in downtown Pomona at 9:45 PM on Sunday. If someone had thought to wager on the likelihood of that, I would have lost a lot of money on the bet.
