Spike5556 Posted March 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2016 My family will be driving in from Ohio for a June cruise out of New Jersey. Can anyone recommend a hotel that would be relatively easy to get to (short distance off the highways), offering a shuttle to cruise port, and maybe free parking for duration of stay???? Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you so much for your help. You're coming all the way from Ohio for a 5 night cruise. If you're coming in I80, you should consider getting off the road in the Parsipanny NJ area, driving the 45 minutes to the port the next morning, and paying the $100 to park at the pier. By the time you get to Parsipanny, you will be ready to get off the road in a suburban area with nice, reasonably priced (and possibly cheap on a Friday night) hotels near restaurants and shopping. You really don't want to come all the way to Newark on a Friday night and deal with the traffic and confusing roads around the airport. On Saturday morning you will just drive past the airport to the port. When you get back, your car will be right at the port and you can head on home. We did this (well, Edison/Woodbridge if memory serves) from the south two years ago, staying about an hour down the Turnpike, had a relaxing morning, an easy drive in, were in our car almost immediately on getting back in port, and on the road. juju2454 Posted March 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2016 Best Western Newark; across from the airport. Stay Park Cruise and ride to and from port via shuttles from hotel all included. Nice rooms, breakfast in the restaurant included, The price of the room incudes the parking for the duration of your cruise, we have stayed twice and both times were very pleased. We have had friends stay as well that were equally pleased.
