Dmason1 Posted March 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Can someone suggest things to do on a SECOND visit to Cartagena? We were there a few years ago, and visited the Roman Theater and Concepcion castle, and really liked them both. This time (end of March), we'd appreciate suggestions for other sites in or near Cartagena. What about the organized ship (Holland's Oosterdam) tours to Elche or Murcia? Are they worth it? Are those trips that one could do independently?
keltic Posted March 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Murcia has a little old town and an awesome catedral. Elche is the biggest palm tree forest and perhaps will be taken the Elche Maid. Our local Nefertiti statue. Backing in time to the former Iberian settlers it's one of the finest artifact in the work.
KirkNC Posted March 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Google Toms port guides, he covers the city pretty well.
syesmar Posted March 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Here is a link to the Tourism Bureau: http://wwwe.cartagena.es/versionmovil_cpc/index.asp They sent me info in the mail prior to departure. We visited some of the other (very) ancient ruins and museums. We ran out of time to see Fort of Christmas and the Arqua Museum right near the dock, highlighting underwater archaeology (http://en.museoarqua.mcu.es). Would love to go back! Hope your return is enjoyable!!
