Wj420 Posted March 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Does anyone know if the Apple Watch will count steps on sea days? I don't understand the connectivity. Thanks!
Stashwinters Posted March 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2016 It should count steps fine. It should read the movement of your arm as you walk to count the steps.
kgmoran Posted March 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2016 You don't even need to have your phone with you to count steps. One odd discovery from my recent cruise. - I have he Milanese mesh watch band with the magnetic strap. I had to replace my sea pass card three times before i realized my watch was demagnetizing the card [emoji57]
ericopia Posted March 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2016 It can help to "calibrate" the watch before you sail. This involves going for an outdoor walk or run of at least 20 minutes in an area with good cellular and GPS coverage, and your phone either in hand or in an armband. I found that in order for my watch to adjust to time changes I must put my IPhone on manual time zone and adjust my iPhone manually. I believe this is because the ship's time was not always the official time. I also believe the watch needs your iPhone to adjust to time changes.
