lmgouglas Posted March 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2016 We have a group of 11 that have reserved the walking food tour on March 30th. I can certainly give you a "review" once we get back! I have read many wonderful things on tripadvisor about the tour and the women who own it. :)
suezyq50 Posted March 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2016 We'll arriving in Falmouth early May and were wondering if anyone had recently taken the walking food tour with Jamaica Culinary Tours? We went mid Feb. and really enjoyed it. Foods enjoyed were sugar cane with tropical fruits, coconut water and coconut jelly, Jamaican beef patty, jerk chicken with a side, can't recall it. Had some sweet treats. We actually walked about 2.5 hrs. Guide was very knowledgeable about her country. She really liked to laugh too.
lallak1 Posted March 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2016 We went last week, and found it to be an excellent tour! Our guide was Steve, and he was very nice. It is a nice blend of Jamaican history and food. First stop was to taste sugar cane, papaya and other fresh fruit. Then we stopped at a market where various vegetables and fruits local to the island could be bought. Next stop was to a local restaurant for a Jamaican meat patty.....delish (and huge!). Then we stopped for coconut water tasting, and then off to a local Jerk Chicken place....also delish. We finished the tour by stopping by a local house for a sampling of desserts, as well as a bit of a tour inside. Interspersed between the food stops were short stops of historical import. Tour lasted about 3 hours, and was awesome! We had 10 people in our tour group, so nice and intimate. A great way to walk your way around Falmouth! mkam2821 Posted April 5, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2016 We'll arriving in Falmouth early May and were wondering if anyone had recently taken the walking food tour with Jamaica Culinary Tours? We did it in 2014. Nice for a change, some local culture. We'd done most of the other excursions having been to Jamaica numerous times. Certainly more affordable than doing similar excursion through a cruise line and you're putting money into the local economy.
PRH Posted January 28, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2017 We just did this in January. Great food and lots of walking (three miles) to help digest it. The patties are wonderful, as was the jerk chicken. Highly recommend. Bottled ware provided by guides. Sent from my iPad using Forums
