Duty free booze on 15 day Hawaii cruise

On our Caribbean cruises we always got good deals on booze but the Ruby only stops one evening in Ensenada, is it there I need to buy the duty free liqueur?

The days of great duty free deals are pretty much gone.

Cheaper to buy onboard or at home, Costco/Total wine etc anymore.

True. Unless you're going to buy something you cannot get in the States. Or could buy from the onboard shop.

It really depends on your state of residence as to whether it's a deal or not (WA has both a volume-dependent tax and a price-based excise tax, so buying onboard is substantially cheaper than Costco or Total here).

To the OP's question, duty-free liquor sales will be available, but if you're a spirits enthusiast, the Costco in Ensenada is a fairly cheap cab ride from the pier, and I have *NEVER* bought premium tequila as cheaply as I did there - between the exchange and the fairly low taxes on booze in Mexico in general, I bought Cazadores and a few others at around 30% off the ship price.
