shipgal Posted March 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2016 If anyone has done a catamaran excursion in St. Martin while on a Royal Caribbean ship, can you please recommend one? I am looking at the Catamaran Mirabella--Beach and Sea, as one of the options. At the same time, if there is one you would NOT recommend, I'd appreciate that, also. Twice we did the Golden Eagle Sailaway - one of the ship's excursions (Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas). We loved it! We tried to do it a third time last November, but waited until we got onboard and it was sold out. We sailed to Mullet Bay, where those who wanted to snorkel did so and others just floated around in the beautiful water and went up to the beach. The "safety officer" on the catamaran, Charlie, brought us rum punches while we were floating on our noodles! Great time! Allyson

blue_water Posted March 17, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2016 We also enjoyed their Farewell Friday all-day tour, the crew is excellent. But the half-day excursion is a great day!
MKellyUtah Posted March 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 18, 2016 ShipGal We did the Mirabella catamaran this past December, and really enjoyed it. We had been scheduled for an excursion thru the ship that was canceled (lack of sign-ups ...), so we got off the ship at the port & looked for something to replace it. My Wife saw a group of people waiting ... asked one of them where they were going ... they said Mirabella, pointed us to the Mirabella person ... and we were able to get on it. It was about 3 or 4 hrs, $60pp, left from the dock where the water taxi is. We thought it was great. The catamaran was very clean & modern ... had plenty of seating & you could sit in the shade or in the sun ... they served drinks, and a light sandwich & chips and dip. They made a snorkel stop, and a stop of about 50 mins at Mullet Bay Beach (they got in close to shore, and people could go down the steps and swim in to shore or drift in using "noodles".) The beach was great, nice soft sand (though most everyone from the catamaran stayed in the water.) Then we headed back to the ship pier. One of the best things was that we only had about 20-25 people on our catamaran --- very noticeable compared to other similar sized but packed catamarans at our snorkel stop. Our boat was very comfortable, with enough room to get up & move around & change seats if you wanted to. We thought this was a great little trip, was a fortunate find to replace the canceled excursion we had looked forward to. Staff was fun, professional, and really looked after everyone --- swimmers and non-swimmers alike. We would definitely consider this catamaran trip again when in St. Maarten.
