francot Posted March 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2016 Hi. Taking the transatlantic cruise on the Star next month. Can anyone provide me with some details on the laundry room? Cost. Do I need quarters? Does it take two cycles of drying? Etc. Thanks in advance!
Rare www3traveler Posted March 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2016 There are NO Self- Serve laundries on Norwegian ships. There will be at least one Fill The Bag for a set price for your cruise, maybe two. Enjoy The Star and your cruise.

don't-use-real-name Posted March 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 21, 2016 If you have Platinum status you will get one bag of laundry done up free. On cruises of five or more days it is common as www3traveler noted to have an all you can fill in a bag for a set price. Pickup on one day and returned the following day so don't pack everything in the one bag and have nothing to wear LOL ! Also look in the storage closet in the cabin for the laundry by piece bag - missing the bag/form ask your cabin steward for a replacement. CAUTION very expensive way to do laundry ! What I do if something needs urgent washing is pack a small vial of laundry soap and do in cabin sink laundry. Just a few items to tide over a day or two. After washing the items use the shower line to hang things to dry or use the hair dryer somewhere in the cabin to accelerate the drying - use care if doing this method of drying - you can also if in a balcony cabin hang things on the deck furniture remembering to secure it from going overboard. The crew I am sure would appreciate not having your undies drying off the semaphore lines indicating that the ship is 3 sheets to the wind or other calamity distress ! Be that boy or girl scout and implement the survival mode of clean clothes !
