Likely for a $300 saving I'd have made the same choice.

 

The one time we did a flight that early out of Tampa, we stood in line almost an hour before it was time to get off and we were person number 5 and person number 6 off the ship. Hey, someone has to be first :). Of course no lines anywhere and we actually had to wake up the cab driver as he was the first in line.

Security changed today. We are TSA preapproved and today there was no TSA fast lane. Heavy screening and LONG lines in Phoenix AZ. Relax and leave later.
