Adventure Ocean open on 1st Night?

I am in charge of planning a Family Reunion cruise on Enchantment of the Seas. It's a 4 day cruise in December. I was wondering if Adventure Ocean is open on the 1st Night. I am more familiar with the kids' program on Carnival where opening night seems to depend on the length of the cruise.

Our RCI Radiance Nursery/Adventure Ocean wasn't open the first night even though this was a 7 night cruise...it still might apply.

We were just on Serenade (10 nights) and AO was open on the first night, starting at 7 pm I think. As usual, it was only open for a couple of hours in the afternoon for registration/open house.

So, maybe it's cruise specific? If AO is closed, do they offer any family oriented activities that first night? On Carnival, they always have a family dance party.
