TOPSTER Posted April 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2016 I just can't find anything that I think we want to do?? We are a couple with a 3 year old and don't want to spend too much. We were looking for a beach trip but just can't find any good options?? Any ideas?
Rare crewsweeper Posted April 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Normally, I'd recommend trying cave-tubing. But really not an option with a 3 year old. There is a zoo. It is/was more of a nature/game preserve for endangered animals. But they do accommodate youngsters. Information here. http://www.belizezoo.org/ Not that expensive to enter. Taxi may cost around $75 though (was BZ$150 at BZ$2 for each US$1) so a tour/excursion might be a better way to go. You can take a bus relatively cheaply, but might be a bit too much trouble with a child in tow. Other than that explore this board for posts on what to do with younger children. There are threads back several of the pages, it's a common question.
BrotherCraig Posted April 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2016 Probably stay on the ship and enjoy the time on there with very few passengers? I think that is what we are going to do since we will have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. We have been to Belize several times. As Crew said, the zoo might be a good pick as well. supercanadian Posted April 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2016 I've looked into things to do as well. We're travelling with an 18 and 19 year old, and my 7 year old daughter. Having to pay for a shore excursion is a bit pricey for 5 people, so it's looking more and more like we are going to end up staying on the ship for this one. I'm thinking of booking spa time or a spa day pass which may be cheaper on a port day. If all else fails, we'll just hop on the tender and explore the small town around port. Podie Posted April 18, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2016 You can take a ferry to Caye Caulker, a charming island town that caters to snorkelers and divers. The ferry leaves from the same port the tender brings you into.
