Comparing SOS & AOS

Recommended Posts

We've been sailing Celebrity Equinox annually x 5 years, and we booked on board again for next March. Although we always have a awesome time, DH and I felt Equinox was a little too quiet in the evenings. We aren't into the casino, but we do enjoy the evening shows, movies under the stars, ballroom dancing. Now we've seen a great itinerary on Serenade. I know it's an older, smaller ship. Will we be disappointed after sailing some larger, newer ships? We have sailed mostly Princess, Celebrity, a couple on Carnival and one so far on RCI, FOS (which we absolutely loved.) Any advice, cruise friends?

I have been on both and loved them both for very different reasons!

Serenade (and all the Brilliance of the Seas class of ships) is just right - size wise. It is easy to maneuver and is known for the amount of glass throughout the ship. It is older but has gone through several refurbishments. We love all of them!

Adventure of the Seas is larger and I love the promenade through the middle of the ship. It has inside rooms that overlook the promenade and you have sit yourself down, have a drink and watch the world walk by. Literally. We were on her once when 2 gentlemen dressed in middle eastern garb created quite a stir strolling along. Unlike the Serenade, the Windjammer buffet area is not open in the back so you can not grab your lunch and go to sit outside.

Sorry everyone.....I made a mistake. I started this thread, then I didn't like the title, so I edited it right away but I must have created a 2nd thread accidentally. What I want to know is if we'd be disappointed in Serenade of the Seas after sailing on much larger and newer ships. Thanks for not flaming me, lol!
