Arriving in venice

Will be arriving in Venice on the Windsurf and need to get to the Hotel Giorgione. I understand the hotel is at the Ca'd'Oro public water bus stop.

Can someone explain what you do once you leave the ship? Where do you get your luggage, where is the water bus stop at the port? Do you have to walk with your luggage or taxi tot he stop?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you have a lot of luggage, the last thing you want to do is schlep it on the water buses. From San Basilio you would have to take the No 2 to Plaza de Roma and then transfer to the No 1 for Ca' d'Oro. From there it's a walk of about 0.6 mile. I would take a water taxi. It will get you to within a hundred yards or so of your hotel. You can usually find someone going in the same direction to share with. Cost will be about 60 euros. Well worth it. Water taxis are like limousines and hold 6-8 people.
