breezer Posted April 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2016 I'm considering B2B cruises and would need to go from POM to the port in FLL. Ridesas.com appears they go to FLL airport. Guess I can call to see if they can drop me off at the port in FLL after they drop off their airport passengers. Any other suggestions? Thanks. yoj13 Posted April 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2016 We had the same journey to do last fall. Unfortunately they will not take you into the cruise terminal at Fort Lauderdale due to some special license they need. Apparently all traffic is videoed and if they don't have the relevant license a nice, hefty fine appears. If they continue to mis-obey the rules, they could find themselves off the road. We took go shuttle up to Fort Lauderdale airport and the driver very kindly took us to departures where we took a taxi down to the port. Very easy to do and much cheaper than a taxi from Miami direct. (although not as convenient) but we did have all day to get approximately 26 miles! JohninDC Posted April 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2016 The above advice to shuttle to FLL and then taxi to PE is good. A taxi on a direct trip between the ports will run about $75-80+ on the meter for the cab - not bad for 3-4 travelling together. Uber should do the trip for under $50 unless surge pricing is in effect - you may need UberXL if there are more then two plus bags travelling together. You could rent a car in Miami (downtown or at the MIA airport) and drop it at FLL or near PE -- gives you a place to stash your bags while you do some shopping, grab lunch, etc. Private transport is always available - check Larry's Limos or Go Airport
