Freedom of the Seas Cabin 8556 E1

Hello, just wondering if anyone can provide details / reviews for cabin 8556 on FOS.

 

I searched and do not find any reviews specifically to this one.

 

We are travelling with 8 and 2 year old in AUG on a West Caribbean and liked this one room due to the pullman bed for our 8 y/o and can still fit a pack n play for our 2 y/o since it does not have the sofa bed.

 

Concerns for us are the proximity to elevators as well as overall size of the room for 4 of us. Some websites show E1 cabins as 180 sq ft however the RCCL agent advised it is nearly 200 sq ft plus the balcony. Not sure if these other websites are just showing average sizes or lowest size in the catagory.

 

Next jump would have been to an D1 cabin but they did not have any available with pullman beds, just sofa beds which we were told can make the room quite cramped feeling as well as being 300+ overall.

I like the location and I don't think you will have any noise issues from the elevators or stairs.

 

I would go with the 184 sq ft that is shown on the deck plan.

I looked at so many sites and everyone had different opinions of the size of the E1 rooms.

 

Finally just called and asked RCCL, they say its because 8556 has a slightly larger room and smaller balcony, this accommodates the pullman bed and has space for the pack n play crib. This is why the difference in sq. ft. from other E1 cabins. So 8556 has 200 sq ft cabin and 53 sq ft balcony.

 

Anyone know where the pullman beds are located? Are they over the king bed as in some pictures or over the sofa area?

 

We also wait listed for a FO Familiy Ocean View in case they open them up for bookings to parties smaller than 5. Had a FO on deck 2 last cruise and loved the room and space.
