I'm trying to get as much done as early as possible for our Alaska Cruise on Carnival Legend in July. If you have a picture of your non-surge protected extension cord, Please post it for me and if possible give me the brand name. This is on my list for this coming week.

go to Home Depot or Walmart and buy the one for $5 and you're good to go. The $30 one would probably be a surge protector.

I found many threads about the non-surge protectors here on Cruise Critic and several have photos. Good luck

Get the cheapest one that is UL listed, it will be safe and if it's under $10 will lack surge suppression.

As other's have pointed out, they are crazy cheap. If you are unsure, ask at Lowes or Home Depot. The tip to get one that is UL listed is a good one!
