Casino Cash

I have just returned to the UK from a cruise from Sydney to Singapore on the Diamond Princess where on the last night I received a letter with $350 Casino Cash Credit which I was delighted about until I read the terms.

I have to book a cruise leaving from an Australian port in the next four weeks and departing before November this year. Being a UK citizen and having just returned to the UK from an Australian cruise and with another Princess cruise booked for next February in South America, this is impossible for me to use.

If I was an Australian citizen, what a great bonus this would be. I could take a 3 day cruise and use the $350 Casino Cash but being from the UK I am unable to take advantage of this as I cannot justify another cruise from the other side of the world to be taken in the next six months.

Just saying :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I received an offer also. I had 3 cruises booked but none applied. This offer just made me mad, I think less of princess than I would haave if the offer wasn't made

I totally agree - what is the point in them making an offer you cannot use! I would have preferred also not to have received the offer. Also the casino manager told me that the points you earn on the slots go towards them offering casino discount on your cruise booking but that information was also wrong

It's like giving candy to a baby and then taking it away. I hate these kinds of offers. Why can't they just be upfront and quit dangling the carrot? I delete these offers whenever I get them.

I delete all the email offers I get as I can never use them but this was a letter hand delivered to my cabin - so annoying!!!!!

I received the same offer on the last night of my cruise on the Royal Princess in January. I spoke with the Casino Manager and she advised me to contract the casino program directly. The email address is: casino at princess dot com

I wrote to them because I already had a cruise booked (Regal Princess in June). I sent them a copy of the letter and all of my information. After several email exchanges they confirmed that they could give me the offer for my June cruise.

Moral of the story...it never hurts to ask!!!

Good luck!

My offer had to be booked between March 9th and April 9th for a sailing by October 6th. My next cruise departs October 27th  I was told to check with the Captain Circle Rep. Once I get onboard.....maybe they'll give me some of the credit. ...Can't hurt.

I'd email the casino department now. Include your name, captain's circle number and a copy of the letter you received. I don't think the Captain's Circle rep can help with that. At least if you reach out to them now you'll know! They were super nice to work with!

I already did that first........I also contacted Carnival Corp. I was told my October 6th cutoff date was a firm date. I do understand if I want a different result, all I need to do is call back 10 minutes later:)

Not stressing it...just wanted to give my experience with Casino Cash. My NEW focus is to end my casino play :) it will allow me to cruise more, being that last month I lost  more than the cruise cost. That'll teach them and hopefully I've learned also:D

Happy cruising to all.

I too, was on the Diamond for the entire month of March. On disembarkation day I was hand delivered a Casino Cash offer for $1000 AUD. Yes I spent far too much time in the casino:D. I had come aboard, in Auckland, with a letter from previous cruise here in the US for $350. I was told that offer only applied to cruises from the US or Europe so was of no use to me. At the end of the Diamond cruise, I got the letter with the restrictions previously mentioned i.e. book in the next thirty days for a cruise from Australia by Sept/Oct of 2016. Upon returning home I contacted the suggested email address and was told that, in deed, the letter was very restricted and no exceptions! BTW our next cruises had already been booked for November so would miss the OCT 26 deadline. It was suggested by Brain at Global Casino Services (Princess and other casinos) that when we did book our next cruise we should contact them with loyalty number and they would determine what credits I might qualify for. Well, daughter found a cruise leaving within two weeks and we have booked it. It meets all the criteria (other than being from Australia) listed in the Casino Cash offer I received on the Diamond. I just forwarded all requested info to Princess Casino folks and will be awaiting their answer. I will update as I hear:)

My husband and I each received notices in our statement at the end of our cruise in February with two different casino cash amounts listed. The same rules: book within 30 days and a list of eligible locations.

The surprise was calling Princess and finding out we also received a reduced rate for the stateroom on our next cruise. I had initially contacted our TA but decided to call Princess directly as well. The agent talked me through the process to receive the reduced rate which I then shared with the TA. I was able to combine the rate with the current OBC offer!

Just wondering how much do you have to play to get this restrictive casino cash credit?

Each cruise I spend WAY TOO MUCH in the casino and always get an offer. Here's some more information in response to several of the previous posts.

Those offer letters are intended to be enticements for you to book again. Princess WANTS you back ... so you can do it all over again in the casino. Their offers are intended to mimic your present cruise: if you sailed from a particular port, then USUALLY the offer is for that port, and perhaps a few PLAUSIBLE alternatives (Remember filling out your cruise personalizer online and clicking those cruises that you've been on before or have interest for the future?)

Sometimes the offer is off from your wishes or what you'd find appealing. My most recent offer from Fort Lauderdale (where I embark) could only be used on ONE cruise, given it was the end of the season wthl Summer approaching and the ships transitioning to other ports. So I called the number on the letter and they gladly extended the offer for Fall sailings, when ships return.

The generosity of the offers reflect the generosity of your play. And remember that slot play has a heavier weighting compared to table games, since slots are more profitable for the casino.

Unlike land-based casinos where "Player's Club" (or whatever program name is used) points earned can usually be cashed-in for "Free Play," merchandise and sometimes cash, the points you accumulate during a cruise only serve as a measure of your play. Earn 100 points during your cruise, and you should expect nothing. But if it's in the thousands, then most likely you'll get a letter with a future offer to come back. Sometimes it's Casino Cash (usually when you have no future cruises booked) or sometimes it's a comp cruise. And sometimes it's both. Other times there may be choices. I've experienced all of those. Yes, there's a time limit. What business would make an offer without an expiration if they want you back soon?

I'm certain the casino uses algorithms to rate a guest's play based upon profitability (but I DO NOT mean: "oh, he won a jackpot, don't give him anything." It's about overall spend and time gambling.) The more valued a player, the better the offer. The casino manager's hands are tied when it comes to the offer, so that's why one is referred to the telephone number on the letter.

The older offers weren't as restrictive as they applied even if you had a cruise already booked. The one I got at the beginning of March though required that we book another cruise within 30 days and after we did that, our TA had to call the Casino dept to confirm that it would be valid. The TA had originally booked our cruise with the usual casino discount, however, the discount did not apply with this offer. As this is a short cruise, the casino cash offer greatly exceeded the discount so we went with that. It does seem like the offers are on the surface more generous, but with more restrictions, they aren't as good as a rebate on casino losses as they used to be.

I added Princess to my spam folder.

They were relentless, 2-3 emails everyday.

I will be enjoying my sunday brunch spam free.

If I get interested in looking for a cruise, I may let them out.

Update on my experience(s). Booked and took cruise within the time frame required on my earlier Casino Cash ($350) but since the cruise was in Australian waters the offer was No Good. Received an offer at the end of that cruise (April 1 2016) for $1000 Australian to be booked within 30 days (and had to be in Australian waters. Booked a cruise this past week (within the 30 days) but not in Australian waters. Contacted Global Casino Services and was told that they were unable to do anything for me on upcoming cruise which leaves in a week. Really not much use-OH well the drinks in the casino were free once I got to know the Casino Hostess:D

The thread title caught my attention, as for the past three years, we had been getting a mailer telling me I had so much "casino cash" if I sail.....It was a nice perk, and a few extra bucks in the casino didn't hurt either.

SO this year, we booked and no mailer....humm...

Thanks to you, with the email address, I emailed a question regarding the status of the mailers. I received a reply the other day asking for particulars to check.

Well, I just got back an email telling me that I DO have casino cash available and it will be available to me on my sailing.

Just goes to show you, you never know what kind of info you find here and what benefits you can take advantage of..

Thanks posters!!

My husband had a letter with $500 and I had one with $250 to be booked by 19 April but we could not book within 7 mths(october 16), we booked for the Royal in Feb 17 and could not use this offer- what email address should be used toobtain an offers of casino credits- our TA did obtain a reduced fare for us from Princess due to casino credit she advised.

Many Thanks for any replies
