tinybiny Posted April 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2016 I would be traveling with a young adult and as far as I can tell, Carnival doesn't allow under 21s to go to the adults only areas. I haven't seen that with any other lines we've looked at. What do young adults do on a cruise like this? It looks like Inspiration and Imagination are the ships that do the cruises I am looking at. How is the food on these? One of my traveling partners is a very picky eater and will only eat stuff like chicken strips, fries, plain burgers and things that don't have any seasoning other than salt and no sauces of any kind. Is that kind of stuff readily available?
SadieN Posted April 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) All cruise lines have some sort of Adult area with age restrictions. The under 21 can do everything else but drink alcohol onboard. Friend can order off the kids menu. vwrestler171 Posted April 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2016 I prefer the food on Inspiration because of the 2.0 upgrades, but if your friend likes that boring food. Imagination might be more for her. That said, both ships are pretty much identical.
pjinaz Posted April 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Depending on the age of the child they may be able to do many things. Like the adults only comedy shows and adults only love and marriage show. If they are mature and over 16 they can probably do both of those. The casino is a little trickier. Serenity is probably ok if they are close to 21. Everything else should be fine. They can go listen to the various musicians, the pools, afternoon tea, mini golf, ping pong, game room, sea day brunch and much more. My kids are 14 and 16 and found plenty to do on the Inspiration. pjinaz Posted April 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2016 We were on the inspiration and there were plenty of food options. Burgers, pizza, burritos, tacos, salads, ice cream, French fries. I'm sure there was chicken fingers on dining room kids menu. If not, ask they may be able to make them for you. My 2 kids are very picky and have been cruising since they were 2 and always have found something to eat.
