Packing for a flight & TSA locks

I use ordinary padlocks on my suitcases. I have not had trouble with this and assume that cases are x-rayed, sniffed by dogs and generally handled by staff. Unless you have suspicious looking items inside they do not open them, if they did I think they will cut the locks.

 

I always put as much stuff into checked luggage so I do not need to carry extra weight.

Thank you, I will put most in the checked case, still plenty of room left. We have padlocks, so will continue to use those
