AKbound72018 Posted April 28, 2018 #26 Share Posted April 28, 2018 Does anyone know if the shower walls are metal? Heard they're super small and wondering about hanging a bag with shampoo, etc on the wall. Thanks much!!
neverbeenhere Posted April 28, 2018 #27 Share Posted April 28, 2018 Showers have no magnetic attraction in any way. :p We bring three jars of rubber cement to cover the entire walls. Everything sticks. It’s a bit messy, but three hours of rubbing off the walls at the end of the cruises really burns up the extra calories. jlp20 Posted April 28, 2018 #28 Share Posted April 28, 2018 Yes. Most cruise ships have metal walls- this is to prevent rapid spread of a fire. One advantage is you can get a strong magnet hook and create additional storage in you cabins.:) When modern cruise ships built, superstructure is much like a honeycomb, supporting structure only. Actual cabins are constructed off site and delivered to shipyard. Cabins are then inserted into framework where they then "become" part of the structural integrity of the ship itself. Steel is the logical material until the cost of carbon fiber comes down,
aknursemom Posted April 28, 2018 #29 Share Posted April 28, 2018 Another use for magnets is to use several pairs of them, sandwiching the bottom of the shower curtain to give a bit of weight, so as to stop it " attacking " you. Nothing worse than being hugged by a bit of plastic sheeting.:D Oooooohhhhh I like that idea! Thanks for the tip!
