Thank you for taking the time to post your report and pictures. We are visiting some of the ports you went to. Very nice. I have one question. How safe was it to walk around Cadiz?

Cadiz is in Spain, EU...so at least as safe as any place in the US or Australia...

 

If you are afraid of pickpockets, don't. There is no need to, also not in Barcelona.

Just keep your wallet in your FRONT pocket as a male, with some elastic bands around it for friction. Pickpocket proof and completely free.

Whatever you do, DO NOT wear a fanny pack, even those "recommended pickpocket proof" ones are a MAGNET to pickpockets and are an open invitation to get robbed. But all in all, chances are bigger to get Pickpocketed in Manhattan than in Barcelona.
