Casino ?'s - Miracle if it matters

First Carnival cruise and I keep reading interesting info about the casino.

So you can't just put $100 in the machine, play a while, hit cash out and take a ticket to the cage or put in in a different machine? Sounds like you have to set up a separate account on your SeaPass with a pin # and you take that from machine to machine?

Points - Royal has a point system for free things for playing such as t-shirts to dinner at a fee restaurant. Carnival have anything similar?

Someone mentioned free drinks in the casino, I assume they have to be a HIGH roller? or is there a day threshold you hit and get them?

Any casino tips you can give would be great! I play roulette if I can easly get a spot near the wheel (superstision :D) but also enjoy the slots.

Slots---

No tickets. Everything gets uploaded into your Players Bank. You access the Players Bank with your Sail and Sign card.

1500 points to get a Drinks on Us card. No other perks. But if you gamble enough you'll get invited to casino cruises. Lots of gimmees on those.

Table games have their own way of doing things.

Like the person above mentioned, you put cash in and cash out to your S&S card. The you can take your card to the cage and get paid.

Also be aware that they require your S&S card for table games too. This is a something that I do not recall in the past.

As far as comps. I do Cheers so don't know about free drinks, which is fine for me. A free drink in Vegas once cost me $100 while I was waiting.

I assume high rollers get something, buy I was never offered anything and I spent $500, 100 bucks at a time FWIW.

Good Luck

There's a chance that if you get enough points and don't have another cruise booked, you can get a BB (bounce back) cruise for an inside cabin. Don't know the amount of points you need though.

I no longer see carnival from my condo front porch :(

For table games, give your Sail & Sign card to the dealer when you buy in (with cash). He will swipe your card to record when and how long you play. They also keep track of how much you are wagering.

Besides the Drinks on Us card that you may earn during your cruise (which gets you free drinks in the casino), you can also get other perks depending on how much and how long you play. I have had chocolate covered strawberries delivered to my room and free bottles of wine during dinner compliments of the casino host.

Not sure how they compute the points or at what level you get them, sometimes I think it depends on the casino host (can be different from ship to ship). But I have gotten 4 Bounce Back offers before (letter slid under your door last night of cruise offering free 3-8 day cruise of your choice. Must be booked with 2 weeks of your cruise and taken with in 3 months. All you have to pay is the Port fees and taxes.

How points are calculated

Slots

Every $2.50 ran through machine = 1 point

Video Poker

Every $5 ran through machine = 1 point

Texas Holdem Tables

No points are earned

Table points are calculated as follows

Amount of bet x hours played

For example, to earn the 200 required points for the DOU card it would take:

$15 per hand x 16 hours

$25 per hand x 8 hours

$50 per hand x 4 hours

$100 per hand x 2 hours

CCL is now transitioning in a new tracking system fleet wide for table players by 2016

Currently available on all the newer ships, the dealer swipes your card upon initial buy-in.

Also if you get 5,000 or more points on one cruise you automatically qualify for the free drink card on your next cruise

IMO, Carnival's casino program is much more generous than Royals MLife. Although we get a steak dinner with MLife, with Carnival we usually both get a bounce back offer for a free inside stateroom, which we upgrade to a balcony. We also usually get a dinner from the casino hostess in the Italian place and strawberries or cookies in the room.

We also start with a DOU card and tip a buck per drink in the casino. While these drinks are nice, you can't just walk up the bar & get one and have to WAIT WAIT WAIT...so a drink per hour is typical.

My husband & I both gamble. My daughter went with me on one of my bounce backs and she also received a reduced amount offer and a drinks on us card on her next cruise, which she hasn't taken yet. (My budget is normally $500day, DD's was $200 for the week.)

We are Diamond on Royal, lowly GOLD on Carnival. Both DH & I were sent offers for our first Premier cruise that we will take in October. We had to pay a reduced price, price was $639pp for balcony...BUT he gets $600 cash back on board, & I get $700. So basically, it's a 'free' cruise, particularly after we use our AARP gift certs.:D Although, Carnival will get our gambling funds back, it's really hard to pay for a room on RCI now when we get our room/food free on Carnival and still play the same amount in the casino.

Beats VEGAS to smithereens! Casino on the ocean, free food, mandated rest time in ports for hubby who would go/go/go in Vegas.:D

How about Craps? That is all I play.

You'll Love your first Premier cruise.....Lots of fun and the drawings, raffles r great.....Plus there's a cocktail party the first day at 5pm where they have great appetizers and free drinks....you'll meet the casino hosts and then they have the first cash drawing

We've been getting the premier offers every single time now for the last 2 years and have only been cruising on them twice a year now.....Can't beat a Free Ocean View(which we then upgrade to a GS) and the $1,500 cash between myself and my wife is icing on the cake

Oh and don't forget....After your first premier cruise your qualified to go on a Ultra cruise next

Can't Wait 😜😜

very interesting info - my sister (CruisinDawn) and I generally have a drink package - so the free drinks are not important to us either. It will seem odd to change cruise lines and not have our diamond status - but from what I am hearing we might be there in no time.

As for the casino - does anyone know if there is three card poker on the ship? :D
