I’ve read from recent Haven Breakaway guests that the Concierge will take Haven guests that Ask into Syds 1 hour early through the backdoor….Did you utilize this perk? Also many guests don’t know about it 🤔 We’re planning on going to Syds ONLY for the Fleetwood Mac Rumours show and I’m on a scooter due to spinal surgery and my MILs in a lightweight wheelchair So having the concierge take us in 1 hour early will be a lifesaver finding Proper seating for the 3 of us PLUS in a area that’ll accommodate my scooter and her wheelchair….Can’t Wait 🍹🍹😜 -

Also i was sad to read about how Salty the lobster bisque soup was in the Haven Restaurant and read another guest on a different post state the same thing….We Love the Lobster bisque usually in Cagneys BUT can you mention to the Haven staff so they can let the chef know there’s more than a few complaints on how salty if is and has been If no one’s complaining it might stay that way BUT if you mention it then hopefully it’ll be better during your sailing or at least the next …..Thanks and i’ll be asking for it day one 😜 and sure hope it’s not over salted -

What it was like to stay in the Haven - on the Bliss June 8-15
LaCal replied to erisajd's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Thanks for the Great Review Weve been on the Bliss quite a few times and Love Her But in November we bit the bullet and Upgraded our comp casino balcony to a Haven Courtyard Penthouse Suite….The Upgrade cost wasn’t cheap But with the comp balcony taken into account it was definitely worth it Especially since this is a Birthday cruise 🍹🍹😜 -
Dawn passengers left “stranded” on African island

Guests are under the False sense of security that If you take a ship excursion they’ll wait for you if you’re late They’ll wait as long as they can BUT will leave you….The difference is the cruise line will pay to get you to the next port to meet back up with the ship….On a third party excursion you’d be on your own -
Thanks for the Great review and photos. Even the upside down ones 😂😂 We’re long time NCL cruisers as well as other cruise lines but in September it’ll be our first time on the Breakaway and definitely looking forward to it Also Good Luck in the casino 🍀🍀💰💰🍀🍀. We’re table players and mainly play Ultimate Texas Holdem but definitely try every game 😜🍹🍹😂……We figured out over 20++ years ago that since we loved to gamble we could mix cruising/gambling and seeing parts of the world all in one and better yet the cruise lines comp us to cruise 😜🍀💰🍀🍹🍹 Looking forward to more of your review 😃

Was it Originally?
-
thx that’s perfect

Does the Haven dining area have any outside eating area? Or in the courtyard? Just thinking it would be nice to dine outside and or be able to wear a baseball hat while dining
-
When I look at the Maine website you mentioned it’s still showing the Breakaway stopping in Bar Harbor on your sailing as well as mine after yours
-
I’d sure be happy if Boston was substituted for Bar Harbor We’re on the Sept 29th cruise
-
Food was great and while the ships in need of some updating it still was excellent
-
Another Live-ish, this time from the Constellation

What did you mean when he dropped a chip in his drink they didn’t refund him?? Drinks in the casino are free 🍹🍹🍹😜 -
Local thrift store might work for something nice to wear and reasonably priced
-
you can definitely use it in the casino. We did
-
Yes
-
Yes you’d pay the difference on any overage price per glass of expensive wine PLUS the 20% on that over cost

If the parents can’t control their kids then the whole lot of them should be asked to leave the restaurant I know i’ve more than once told parents who weren’t even paying attention that their young child was crying and screaming to please control their child….The wife took the child out of the restaurant till they stopped the outburst

Also Thanks to @chengkp75 for posting this additional Technical info yearssss ago about the whole ship TP Frankly, this is one of the myths about vacuum toilet systems. The thinness of the ship's supplied toilet paper is not to prevent clogs, but to allow it to break down quicker in the waste water treatment plant. The treatment plant is similar to a septic system ashore, but processes waste water so quickly that the bacteria do not have time to digest the paper fibers. The theory of vacuum toilet systems actually requires that each flush of the toilet act as a "plug" in the pipe that the vacuum can pull along the pipe. If the "plug" falls apart too soon, the vacuum will not move the waste along the pipe, it will tend to lay in horizontal pipes, and this can cause clogging. For this reason, on larger systems, there will be vacuum "booster" stations that will "rebuild" the waste plug to move it to the engine room. After over 30 years operating and maintaining vacuum toilet systems on ships, I can say that I haven't seen a single clog caused by "thicker" toilet paper . Baby wipes, facial wipes, facial tissues, paper towels, and of course any fabric (face cloths, towels, napkins, underwear, swim wear are a few examples of what we've pulled out), or food items including rib bones, etc.

Thanks to @chengkp75 posting about his Ship Engineer experience and working on the septic systems for many many years we’ve been bringing our own nice soft beautiful toilet paper every cruise and we’re so happy we read his info and our asses are super happy as well 😜🤣 I’ve copy and pasted his comments and technical stats about TP and ships to many a cruise sites any time the subject comes up and people who were once scared to bring their own for fear of clogs are now as happy as i am bringing that good ole Charmin……I can hear Mr Whipple doing a TP cruise commercial jingle now 🤣
