Luggage on coach

We are taking the coach to Southampton, not done so before. The information says take as many bags as you wish, but no bag should weigh more than 20kg.

 

I know someone who retired a couple of years who did the Cruise runs. I asked him about this and he told me it was purely a health and safety issue for the drivers, but they didn't actually weigh any bags. But I suppose he could only speak for the company he worked for. He drove for Ellisons, a St.Helens company

 

So has anyone actually had their bags weighed?

We did not have our cases weighed but if they were overweight the driver could refuse to load or carry the case .

 

Also if using the coach you are allowed two cases each (23kg) and hand luggage .

Not had ours weighed either, but we always keep our cases under 20kg anyway. Some of the cases get put right to the back of the luggage space under the coach and the driver puts them in and gets them out himself. It's a big job when you think of the number of cases the passengers on his coach will have. We wouldn't want to handle anything heavier ourselves anyway
