Applying gift cards but not spending full amount?

I have some Carnival gift cards to use for my next cruise for on-board expenses.

 

If I enter $500 in gift cards at the desk or kiosk, but only spend $450., can I get any credit back?

 

This would not be Cruise Cash, but specifically Carnival Gift Cards. Thanks in advance.

Last cruise I did that. They sent me a new gift card with the balance via Fed Ex about a week after we got back.

My last cruise I had $33 left from my $500 carnival gift card and they sent me a check about 2 weeks later. I was surprised because I was told by customer service that I wouldn't get the balance, and I would lose it, another Carnival person who gives out the wrong info.

We just got the $45 gift card balance we had left in a check yesterday for our April 15th Pride cruise.

You can also go to a slot machine, set up your players bank and add funds from your S&S card. Play a few and then cash out. The cashier at the casino will give you the cash you have left in that player's bank. That's just if you wanted the balance before you leave the ship.

We had $133 left on our March Breeze cruise

We got a check back in about 2 weeks.

We were expecting another gift card.

I wonder why it's different for different guest?

In January I went 2 times to guest services the night before and got cash.It was a total of over 170.00. No questions asked. I just asked to withdraw my amount left over in cash the last time and received all in my account. All of my S&S money was in gift cards about 600$. Try it what have you got to lose.
