gibbsgirl Posted October 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2005 Have previously cruised RCCL and Celebrity. They offer wine packages in the dining room......7 or 10 bottles at reduced prices from a more limited wine menu. Is this something available on Princess as well? On our previous Princess cruises, packages like this were offered in the dining room. I don't recall the details, but were similar to what you experieinced in RCCL and Celebrity. You may know this, but if you buy a bottle, the dining room staff will also save any wine you did not consume (wine remaining in the bottle that is) for you for future evenings. My wife and I are not big wine drinkers---at most 2 glasses with a meal, so this was nice---made the purchase of a bottle of wine more economical than buying individual glasses, as we could enjoy the bottle with multiple meals. dojobo Posted October 19, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2005 The only "Wine package" I've seen on a Princess boat was the box sets they sell at the more expensive wine tasting, they vary from 2 to 4 set (high-end) wines at a (slight) discount. I don't recall anything like what you are talking out.. though it does sound like a good idea.
gibbsgirl Posted October 20, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted October 20, 2005 Thanks for your responses.....sounds like it won't be an option on Princess. Too bad though, it's a great way to enjoy wine with dinner every night without breaking the bank! More money for excursions, spa, and the casino. jbrambach Posted October 20, 2005 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2005 I too was getting excited....maybe Princess will implement this in the future. I was reading a review of the Sapphire Princess and the poster mentioned that he bought a cappucino card for $25.00 so they seem to be expanding what they offer. Splinter Posted October 21, 2005 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2005 HAL offers this too, but not Princess. What they sell at their wine tastings (which are WAY overpriced) is in a fancy box which adds to their jacked up price. Wait until you get home to buy any wine for home....it is not a deal.
