Does it work like phone calls, we get charged huge fees? Anyone with text experience, thanks for your help!:D

This would not require you to purchase WiFi from the ship. If you purchase WiFi from the ship for all phones, then you can use internet based texting, like iMessage or WhatsApp for no extra charge from your cell company. Anyone with text experience, thanks for your help!:D When you are on the ship's cellular system (Cellular at Sea), you will be able to text as you normally would on land but you will pay depending on what your carrier charges. I do not know about Sprint but ATT charges $0.50 for every text sent if they don't have a cruise ship plan that includes texting. Any incoming text for ATT subscribers is free.
