Hello all

Will be on MSC Poesia in January in the Caribbean

we wondering what currencies we would need to take

 

I am guessing the ship will be a card and dollars but not sure about the port of calls

would they all also take US Dollars

I have been to 10 out of the 12 Islands you listed. Those 10 accept the American dollar.

That is virtually the same itinerary I did last month

 

USD were readily accepted everywhere except Guadeloupe where Euros were the order of the day. But you should be able to use a credit card there readily.

Very few of the taxi drivers speak English. it's French or French or French:D:D

 

 

 

But on almost every other island English was either the 1st or 2nd language

 

 

Interestingly the currency on-board was Euros the service charge was 8.5 euros pppd ( now gone up to 9 euros pppd since 19 April 2016.

This was a surprise to me as I expected USD in the whole of the Caribbean not just cruises out of Florida.

 

If your cruise is classified as an Antilles cruise you will be billed in Euros

Exactly the same as yours except in did the trans-Atlantic crossing as a B2B with it.
