mmpanda1946 Posted May 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Why does it seem like darn near everyone is worried vibrations on a ship. Good grief your not at home sleeping in your bed, you are on a SHIP. You that worry about vibrations should have cruised years ago when a lot of the smaller ships had vibrations, creaks, and groans, and GOD knows what else. Enjoy the cruises and don't worry about the little things. M

Crafty Posted May 10, 2004 #22 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Ok, gotta ask. What does that quarter thing mean about the Plaza deck? I am booked on the plaza deck due to my late booking. What else is wrong with the deck beside it being so darn low on the ship?
juliejoe Posted May 10, 2004 #23 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Crafty, There is NOTHING wrong with the Plaza deck - it is a very convenient location. I have not come across one in recent years, but motels used to have a slot to put a quarter in to make the bed vibrate. Now..... ..... I am eagerly anticipating reading the other answers you get about "the quarters thing". I know one of our very clever cruisecritics will do a great job of explaining it. karfest Posted May 10, 2004 #24 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Crafty- I had mentioned in another post that when we pulled into port, our bed shook like the old "magic fingers" they used to have on hotel room beds. (anyone much under 40 won't remember these) My mom never let me do this so I never got the "magic fingers" experience. Maybe now that I'm older I understand her reasoning! Anyway, the vibration is a good signal to get out of bed, run to the balcony and greet your new port.I thought it was great fun and a reminder that, yes,I am on a ship. sue d. miller Posted May 10, 2004 #25 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Hi Crafty. You have been taken by our sense of humor. First, the plaza deck is great. You are near the shops, internet cafe, the atrium, all the inside goodies, and a short elevator ride up to the pools and the food. Did I mention it was close to the shopping? Now to our great sense of humor. The post was about vibration!! We thought that vibration was good. Some even thought it was a good time to get close. VERY close!! Some thought the feeling resembled the hotels you use the quarters to make the bed vibrate!!! That is where you came in!! If you hang around, you will understand our demented minds a little better. Have a wonderful cruise!! Sue 7 days on Star Princess 10/
