Villatranquility Posted May 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2016 Hi to all you well informed folks :). Could someone please confirm whether Indy still has its library - or whether it has bit the dust to make way for more staterooms as on some of the other ships. It is still showing on RCI's 'as of May 2016' deck plans, but we all know how up to date some of their info is. If it has gone is there a book nook anywhere to help make up for the loss - and is that book nook anything more than the 1 paltry little book cabinet that has appeared on some of the other ships? Thanks in advance Coral
livinginyellow Posted May 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2016 Yup! Still there. Right in the back of Deck 7. I looked in it on my trip in February and there wasn't a whole lot, but it was definitely a quiet space to sit!

Villatranquility Posted May 20, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted May 20, 2016 Thanks to you too - hope you had a great cruise. :) We are gearing up to board her on June 4th. Hoping to find me a book or two in the library for our 14 nighter - just in case I manage to find some down time ;)
GiggleBee Posted May 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 20, 2016 Definitely still there on the TA and from what I heard they've just brought a whole load of new books for it as all the others got stolen. They now have a member of adventure ocean there during the day to check out books and then the books all get locked away at night.
loubetti Posted May 21, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Here's a small, partial photo of it: NOT!! :D

Villatranquility Posted May 21, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Thanks Gigglebee - a potential stock of new books, and a sort of librarian to keep an eye on the book thieves. Perfect. Ha-ha Merly - pleased you didn't disembark with any 'excess baggage' ;)
lalalemon Posted May 21, 2016 #12 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Does anyone know if they have any children's picture books? Taking the small one in September, would be handy to not have to pack half the bookcase!
loubetti Posted May 21, 2016 #13 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Great pic Lou - you little devil :D. Now that library would definitely float my boat!! :D Your boat would then be the Queen Mary 2. Largest library and book store ever at sea. It's situated up front, with beautiful views over the bow- always crowded! Features 8,000+ books and magazines.
Mommabear2Five Posted May 21, 2016 #14 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Does anyone know if they have any children's picture books? Taking the small one in September, would be handy to not have to pack half the bookcase! I remember a lot of children and teen books on the shelves from our March 2016 cruise, but I can't say for sure if there were any picture books specifcally. I enjoyed sitting at the front chairs in library; it's a great place to people watch on the promenade.
