Any pictures of the "beautification" on Victory?

I'm curious. I have heard (and seen pictures) of cabins in bad shape... but what about the rest of the ship?

On the videos I watched, even though some parts of the cruiseship looked a bit "Vegas" to me, it did not look bad.

As far as noise in the cabin you always have to expect that their could be noise. Same as when you stay in a hotel. If you can't handle noise then you should stay home. And I always wonder if the people who complain about noise checked to see where their cabin was when they booked? I know I was careful to make sure I got a cabin with cabins below and above us. You can't book a cabin above the disco and not expect noise.

I understand your point but Tilliebob's cabin did have cabins above. The noise problem was probably caused by the work being done on the cabins. I wouldn't be happy about hearing noise all night either!

We were on the Victory in April - we had a great cruise and I didn't feel that the ship was in need of repair - we had a balcony cabin on deck 9 (Lido) and we just loved the location.

Be sure to watch a movie at the Dive In !! I really liked the tiered seating for that.. :)

To Canadianmama3 and anyone else: don't criticize me for voicing my opinion and it is because of you and people like you that I do not post very often here. I have a right like anyone else and if you all don't care for it... that's too bad and your problem!!! Haven't you all heard the expression "to each his own"???? Also if you think that I should stay home, I definitely do not have to stay home just because a ship that we cruise on is not brand new and shows its age in one way or another. We are not newbies and even if we were, I would still have been disappointed in the room appearance especially the half hung drape because it was so obvious and it made the room look even worse. We knew when we went on it wasn't going to be perfect, nothing ever is but don't you think that someone such as the cabin steward or maint. could have fixed it, the half hung curtain, even something temporary would have been better than nothing. It looked like something you would see in a 2nd rate or worse hotel room. If I worked there and that was my assignment I would have tried to get it fixed. Our cabin steward thought nothing wrong of it and said "they will fix it sometime, whenever they get around to doing this cabin and maybe in a few months". Obviously he didn't care one way or the other and I would have done it myself if I had had a large clip or safety pin with me.We have been on multiple, multiple cruises....several different cruise lines and several type cabins from suites to inside cabins and never saw something like this in a cabin before. To me a cabin appearance means a lot regardless of the price paid. Overall we had a wonderful time with friends who were with us celebrating our 45th May 1st wedding anniversary. There was a lot about the ship that we liked and enjoyed. Why won't we do it again???? We like to try a different ship, old or new every time we cruise which is 2-3x a year. Why repeat a ship when there's so many out there to try??? One more thing...this May 1st cruise was booked 6 months prior to the cruise date and the room chosen was suggested by my PVP because it was centrally located near an elevator and close to everything. Location wise it was fine. We nor anyone else would have known that there was going to be a beautification of the ship going on during the cruise at the time of booking. We were notified in late March or the beginning of April of it, the on going beautification project to take place while cruising, and it only stated in the email that it would be affecting the embarkation times and leaving the port times. Noise wise, of course it could be heard if you had a cabin in the area they were working on...that only makes sense. Just surprised that they worked late into the night. So to those who criticize someone else's post, think and find out all the facts...before you say or insinuate negative thoughts about a post or the the person that does the post. Wake up and grow up....lot more important things in this world to concern yourself with.

I'm confused... I haven't seen anyone on this thread being rude to you. (Deleted post maybe?)

I apologize if you took offence to what I posted. It was another poster whom I made a comment about not asking their opinion. That was because that particular poster seems to go any every thread asking about the beautification and just make the statement "there is nothing beautiful ....." Basically adding nothing to the conversation and just trying to get into it with people. Kind of trollish behaviour. So once again that wasn't directed at you but i apologize if you took offence.

And my comments about the noise and position of the cabin wasn't just about what you posted. It was more an observation that some people complain about noise but didn't even consider where the cabin was when they booked it. I agree hearing constant construction noise would be annoying.

And I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise and now your saying that you won't go on victory again because you want to try other ships. Which is probably something I will do. But to be fair your earlier post made it sound like you would never go back because of how "bad" it was.

And yes I guess the cabins need updating and that's what they are doing.

I like what I see with only one exception: removing the bedskirt would make the room look 20 years younger. LOL

Nice flat screen. :)

so we were on deck 6, 6432 still had the old TV and old bathroom, 6210 had new tv and old bathroom

new TV's are poppping up all over the ship, as its an easy swap to do

personally i didnt see anything out of order or in need of repair.

everything we used or saw worked as designed, I am sure if i looked for somthing I could have found issues, but i wasn't there to "rate the ship"

I was there to have fun

Thanks for your review.

At what time did you embark?

I'll be in 6215 in December. Hopefully if 6210 has the updated TV, 6215 will as well. Even if they dont get to the bathroom, I care more about the TV than the bathroom. I like to watch something in bed before falling asleep

I will be on the main deck room 2344. This room is right below the dining rooms. Can anyone tell me if there will be lots of noise from above?

I would like to know so I can check into a room move if it's too noisy.

Thank you :)

I did not sail on the Victory yet (will be my first time with Carnival)... But I was told (and I read many times) that a room below deck 7 was a bad idea because of all the noise.

We were on the June 3 for the 4 night Victory. Had a balcony cabin mid-ship (9-263) on the Lido deck. Location was great, but the room has not been updated yet and it sorely needs it. On the last day I was getting out of the shower and a couple of floor tiles stuck to my foot. TV was not a flat screen and the picture was horrible. Door to the balcony didn't shut all the way even when locked so there was a whistling noise coming through.

On the bright side, our room steward Arvin was awesome.

Overall wasn't very impressed with the Carnival product (this was our first, and likely our last Carnival). Food, entertainment and service were not very good, staff didn't seem to be enjoying themselves all that much. The only time I saw the cruise director interact with the passengers was on the last night when he came into the Adriatic Lounge to see the comedy show. At first he went straight to the back with the rest of the staff but a passenger saw him and waved him over.

One of the most ridiculous things we encountered was the mandatory clearing of the Adriatic Lounge after each event. It's not like the room was filled to capacity at any of the shows, why can't we stay there, have a drink and keep talking to people? Made no sense.

Another thing that didn't make much sense was having all the photographers lined up in the hallway between the casino and the Adriatic Lounge area. It was impossible to get by and cause huge backups when they were trying to get the perfect shot.

Maybe it was an unusual experience we had, but it seemed like that was just the way it is on Carnival. It's a shame.

In a facebook group for Victory cruise.... someone was actually on the ship and posted pictures of the updated room. I don't have any way of showing them here but they looked really good! Digital AC control, blue carpet, flat screen, USB outlets, blue theme bathroom (not over the top blue, just blue accent).... He's in cabin 2254 so at least that area has been updated

We got off the Victory June 16. We had cabins 2250, 2254 and 6250. Cabins 2250 and 2254 had been redone. Cabin 6250 only had a small flat screen, nothing else had been redone. Our redone rooms were awesome. No complaints.

1st time on Carnival Victory. Have cruised lots of times previously on a number of cruise lines. Loved every one. This time I am cruising with my 3 adult daughters. They are taking Mommy for her birthday on August 21. Who's cruising with us?

I stayed in a grand suite on the Upper deck 6 I believe this past August and the room was awesome to us! I didn't really notice any "upgrades" but this was my first time in a grand suite so I'm not sure. The cruise I took on the Victory in April of 2014 was in a balcony on Lido deck and it was nice as well. I would gladly sail on her again!
