Rare APDMOM Posted June 4, 2016 Author #226 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Speaking of worth while do you plan to, and if not could you, talk about about the package you had and if it was worth while? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk Well, I will share my experience, but it was a bit unique. :D I booked the ultimate package at a whopping special of $310.58 for the seven days (including gratuities). So, my per day cost, incl grats, came out to only around $44.30. That is why I decided to get the ultimate. We usually do not drink much, and getting this package was my chance to try different drinks that I would not want to pay $13 for. I therefore tried several drinks. If I did not like them, I just drank a few sips, and left them. This way, I found my own new favorites. I had 3 specialty coffees with syrup every day (~$18.50). I tried 3-5 mixed drinks per day (~$46-$76), and had a glass of wine with dinner (~$9.50). I also picked up 2 water bottles per day (~$4). So, with a potential price tag of more than $94 per day, compared to the $ 44.30 per day I paid, it was worth it for me, this time. In the future, if I get this kind of deal (glitch) again (which I strongly doubt) I would probably buy the package again. To me, the regular price tag is not worth it. I do not enjoy drinks enough to pay that much for them. As my experience shows, I think the choice of whether to get a drink package is a very individual one, based upon preference and budget. At this time, we work hard to pay off our house, and the drinks splurge was a one time event, thanks to the Royal Caribbean Dynamic Math (Thanks Bob "Clarea" for that genius term) :D
widallas Posted June 4, 2016 #227 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Something I did not notice before, is that you can see your Crown and Anchor benefits on the TV. Once you use a benefit, it will disappear from the list, and you will see only remaining benefits. Is this available on all RCI ships? Very helpful.... Rare APDMOM Posted June 4, 2016 Author #228 Share Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) Is this available on all RCI ships? Very helpful.... I don't think so. The Allure TV system is set up a bit differently from our experience on Oasis last June. It could have changed on Oasis to be more similar to Allure, but I don't know. I know this feature was not available on Navigator or Freedom when we sailed them. It would definitely be nice if more ships could use this system that Allure uses. :) Edited June 4, 2016 by APDMOM

micmacmissy Posted June 4, 2016 #230 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Thank you for the great pictures! Does anyone know: is the casino on Allure smoky? I am hoping to be able to spend some time in there, but I can't handle the smoke.
Rare A&L_Ont Posted June 4, 2016 #231 Share Posted June 4, 2016 APDMOM, thanks for going such a wonderful review. It could not have been any better with all the tips and photos that help to explain. Having been on the ship I few times;) I thought I knew most everything, but you have given me some new tips. Thanks for doing such a comprehensive review. Thelongos Posted June 4, 2016 #232 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Well, that is it! This picture review is done. I am fresh out of tips for Allure of the Seas. I hope you find this helpful as you plan your next Oasis class cruise. Now, I have to find another flimsy excuse to go on another cruise. :D It will not be hard... Until next time, farewell to Allure of the Seas: Hi APDMOM, Thank you for the great review and pictures. We really enjoyed them. You are indeed a cruise review artist! We will be traveling on Allure in approx 1 month so this is exactly what we needed! :) Also, we may be neighbors on that 11/24/17 sailing on the Navigator! We are staying in one of the aft royal family suites.
Rare APDMOM Posted June 4, 2016 Author #233 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Thank you for the great pictures! Does anyone know: is the casino on Allure smoky? I am hoping to be able to spend some time in there, but I can't handle the smoke. It has a large non-smoking side, which was on the aft - close to the main dining room entrance. However, some nights when we left the dining room, we could smell the smoke from the Casino even in the hallway. It was not as bad as on other ships, though. :) We could often smell the spray they use to neutralize smoke odors, so they do a good job of cleaning the Casino. My reviews are definitely not as entertaining as yours! :) I enjoy comedy, but do not have a creative comedic bone (just 2 funny bones, like everyone else)... only my husband laughs at my jokes, and only if I tell him, "That was a joke." :D

I am extra excited about that one. It will be our first visit to Bonaire. Enjoy your Allure cruise!

cybergenie Posted June 4, 2016 #238 Share Posted June 4, 2016 I just saw this in CC. Your review was very well done, and interesting. For all in our group, this will be the first cruise on a "mega ship". Totally enjoyed the great photos, too. We are all excited about this upcoming cruise. :D

ATL_Guy67 Posted June 4, 2016 #240 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Just finished our trip on the Oasis today. We have been on only 4 cruises in the last 21 years and were sure we would enjoy it. Our teenage boys suggested a cruise for our summer vacation. We loved this trip and this ship! I didn't think the food would be as good or as plentiful. It turned out fantastic. We are probably going to book a trip on the Harmony for next Memorial Day week. The average age on the past ships seemed to be 65-70, this cruise was family friendly with a lot to do on the ship. cruzin76 Posted June 4, 2016 #241 Share Posted June 4, 2016 First things first on this Memorial Day: A heartfelt Thank You and cyber hug to all our CC members who lost a loved one, defending our freedom. As a naturalized citizen who grew up in a much less privileged society, I am sincerely thankful for the freedom I enjoy, and for the ability to afford cruising. I was a skimmer the first time. Reading it the through was awesome! You definitely have a gift, some of the best comedians needed a straight man. Thanks for the pictures, tips, your labor of love, and thank you for your thoughtfulness on this day.

nomoreknothead Posted June 6, 2016 #249 Share Posted June 6, 2016 Thanks for the awesome review! We have been putting off sailing on the Oasis or Allure just because of the sheer size and all the differences in the other ships! We aren't sure of having to make reservations for shows or dining options. We are breakfast in the wind jammer people, So a lot of changes for us! My husband is a big fan of the steam room & sauna on the other ships. I've heard that on these ships that your must pay extra to use them and they are co-ed, Do you know anything about that area? OH, I forgot to say .... We booked the Allure for April 2018 in a Boardwalk Balcony for a B2B !!! This gives me lots of time to study & plan! If you are up early in the morning, the Windjammer will be fine, except on days when you arrive in port early. Also, we love the Windjammer, but really like the other options on Allure. It is almost as if it is a different cruise line- seeing so many more dining options. As for the spa/sauna, it is additional. Here are the prices from our sailing: Enjoy planning your adventure!
