Embarkation Day on Dream - Lunch in Dining Room

Recommended Posts

I see you haven't gotten an answer yet, You can search this board. I believe on most of the ships the dining room is not open yet for lunch. The pasta place on the Dream is very good.

The dining room is not open on embarkation day for lunch on the Dream, or at least it was not last year. As far as I know it is not open for lunch on any ship but just going by the ones I have been on.

Was on board 3 weeks ago. No embarkation lunch in the dining rooms. Lido deck buffet, the 2 grills, wok, pizza, deli, indian, and pasta bella open. Only time dining rooms open during the week besides dinner was for the sea day brunches, breakfast on port mornings, afternoon tea, and for the seuss breakfast.

MDR not opened on embarkation 6/26/16. Make Sure to eat lunch prior to 2:30 as EVERY dining venue will completely close for the Safety Drill.

Or you can just skip the chaos of lunch on embarkation day. It will make dinner that much more enjoyable. And come the last day, you might be glad you missed one feeding!

This might be one of the funniest post on eating. You have cruised on Carnival? No one is missing a meal, so many venues.

Three times already...and again in August!

No one is missing a meal is an understatement! By the end of the cruise it looks like forced-feeding is in full force.

While I would prefer to arrive at the terminal about 2:30 to avoid traffic, lines and waiting, my wife is like most here...lets get there for lunch...we paid for it! Like one stinking hamburger and an ice cream cone is that big a deal financially when you are spending thousands.

Somebody help me out here... I've been on 2 cruises already, but can't remember what we did on the 1st, and the 2nd we just sat on the lido and got the burger (we were on the dream).

I remember the lido being VERY crowded - as everyone had their carry-on luggage, etc. If we were to go to Pasta Bella, we would need to take our carry ons with us, correct? How long after boarding is it that we are able to take our carry ons to the room? I just can't seem to remember.

Unless you are priority or have faster to the fun you will have to carry your baggage that you haven't left with the porters. On the Dream you will encounter a sign if you try and go to your room before 1:30 which says your room isn't ready yet. Please come back at 1:30.

Thank you! I couldn't remember about what time we were allowed in our rooms. Pasta bella definitely seems the best bet... less people and carry-ons to trip over! :D
