CaribbeanCrazy Posted October 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2005 That Celebrity ships use non dairy creamer...not half & half??? I read this on a review and thought there had to be some mistake. If it is true my DH is going to be reeeeeally bummed. :( One of the ways he usually judges a restuarant is whether they use real cream (or half and half). He says if they don't care enough to give you real cream with your coffee...most likely they cut corners with their food quality also. Both Carnival and Princess have half & half available. Isn't Celebrity supposed to be a step above them???? This is not an issue for me...I'm not a coffee drinker. :) Thanks CaribbeanCrazy
Joyfredsblondecruiser Posted October 22, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2005 I always use cream or half and half in my coffee and when we were on the Mercury last year I do not remember not having it. We will be on the Mercury on Oct 31 and I will let you know when I get back. Happy Sailing, Joy
wv4891 Posted October 22, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2005 I do not use anything in my coffee, but my wife tells me that Celebrity does not use a non dairy creamer. She is not sure if it is half and half though.
dkjretired Posted October 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2005 always drink half and half and have never had a problem getting it on Celebrity ships. Probably they serve both but I know half and half is readily available.
CaribbeanCrazy Posted October 22, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted October 22, 2005 Thanks everyone! :) Now I won't have to break the bad news to my husband. :) Joy, Being as the Mercury is the ship we will be going on also....It would be great if you would give me the low down. I will probably have a few more questions for you by the time you get back. :) Bon Voyage CaribbeanCrazy
Karynanne Posted October 22, 2005 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2005 We were on Mercury in May and in the cafe they DID use a non-diary creamer (little containers), but I believe in the Main Diningroom half n half was used. Personally, I prefer the non-dairy, and but my DH likes the real thing... Anyway it shouldn't impact your cruise at all...go and enjoy! warmwinds Posted October 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2005 Just ask for whatever you want...they have cream and half and half to cook all sorts of things so just tell them which you would prefer (some people prefer the non-dairy, others regular milk). They will be happy to bring you your preference.
ocngypz Posted October 23, 2005 #8 Share Posted October 23, 2005 It depends... is the answer. Just of the Zenith and the little containers are 1/2 and 1/2. Milk in pitchers in the dining room. I request 1/2 and 1/2 from room service. Mercury... had non-dairy on her west coast cruises I did. Blech. There was not a drop of 1/2 and 1/2 on the ship. nu2sea Posted October 23, 2005 #9 Share Posted October 23, 2005 I use milk in tea, but half-and-half was served by room service and in the Palm Springs Cafe (in individual serving size) during our just completed Mercury cruise. Susan
