Overnight Port -- Required to Return to Ship?

Looking at the Iceland cruise next summer. It overnights in Reykjavik. Are we required to stay overnight on the ship? (We are USA citizens and so do not need a visa.)

 

No, you do not have to stay overnight on the ship.

At an overnight port the ship is just like a floating hotel. You have paid for the accommodation, it is up to you if you use it. Just make sure that you are on board by "all aboard" time on the day of departure, the ship won't wait for you.
