Empress of the Seas JS ?

Recommended Posts

Trying to get some opinions regarding which JS would be best on the Empress. Currently we have an aft cabin on deck 7 booked. There are several JS that are not aft available on deck 9. I know the balcony is larger with the aft cabins. Is there a difference in square ft. I understand there is probably more noise on deck 9 balconies. Any information would be greatly appreciated. This will be a first cruise for my friend that is traveling with me. I would like for her to have the best experience possible on this ship. Thanks.

I would stick with the Aft balcony....Empress is a small enough ship the walk to your cabin will not be bad at all...and the larger balcony is a major plus! We had a side JS on Empress and it's pretty small...

I was in 7188 many years ago. The balcony is extra deep and well worth the slightly extra walk aft and since it is such a small ship you'd not really be that far from the aft elevators and stairs. It's also a great view looking astern.

I was also in 8686 once, now there's a big balcony, standard depth but about 18 feet wide!

Thanks for the replies. That is what I wanted to hear. Even on the large ships I book as far back as I can. That way I can get some exercise; so the walk to the back of the ship doesn't bother me. I am actually pretty happy with the price and cabin. I was just looking for some confirmation that I made a good choice.
