ametrinel Posted June 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2016 My hubby and I are headed to Alaska on July 10 to celebrate our 30th anniversary (and they said it'd never last!) Can someone tell me the best place to eat upon embarkation? We try to stay away from the buffet since that's where everyone else seems to head. Thanks! Ships that have an Alfredo is nice. International Cafe - if you aren't starving. Lido deck - the pizza place and the hot dog/hamburger place. dianef Posted June 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2016 One of the dining rooms are normally open between 12:00 and 1:30. There is also the grill outside for pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs.

lumpyi Posted July 9, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2016 Ate at Da Vinci dining room on embarkation and food choice was disappointing. Hamburgers are excellent on deck 15, also views of Seattle. Maybe excitement of first cruise made food taste bland, but dinner was fine, so save room and snack your way till dinner.

If you can't do the DR, head up to the grill or the pizza counter. On the first day, many people haven't yet discovered these, so they won't usually be as crowded as the buffet. I am a big fan of the Princess hot dog. :)
Robinsoncruiseso Posted July 9, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 9, 2016 If weather is not so nice, head to the MDR. If it is nice and sunny out, enjoy a Hot Dog or Pizza with some french fries then grab a dessert at the buffet or an ice cream on the Lido deck. Yes...avoid the buffet.
